HEAL-Baltimore Inc
Health Equity through Acupucture and Learning
HEAL-Baltimore Inc is a newly launched 501(c)(3) nonprofit expanding access to acupuncture, trauma-informed care, and health education for vulnerable Baltimore residents living with pain, cancer, stress, trauma, addiction and other chronic health challenges.
Our work is guided by a four-phase strategic plan designed to grow with depth, trust, and sustainability. In Phase 1, we are building strong roots through direct care for veterans, people living with pain, cancer patients and survivors, and individuals carrying significant stress and trauma. Future phases will expand into broader community partnerships, education, and outreach, with Phase 2 projected for 2027 and planned partnerships including HBCUs, first responders, Baltimore nonprofits, and Recovery Centers.

HEAL-Baltimore Inc will be accepting select insurance plans. Carefirst/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Johns Hopkins EHP, and Optum for Community Care for the VA.

Access to Care
Healing Education

HEAL-Baltimore Inc uses a hybrid model to expand access to effective holistic care. Payment options include self-pay, insurance submission, sliding scale support, and a limited free treatment, based on the type of care needed, insurance eligibility, financial need, and available program support.

Phase 1 Access-Priced Care
HEAL-Baltimore Inc is building access through a combination of free group auricular acupuncture, semi-private sliding scale community acupuncture, sliding scale and free full-body treatments when clinically needed.

Free Group Auricular Acupuncture
Beginning in May 2026, HEAL-Baltimore Inc will offer 1–2 evenings per week of free group auricular acupuncture. Auricular acupuncture is designed to support nervous system regulation and help the body move toward healthier balance, often improving sleep, digestion, stress regulation, and overall well-being.

Semi-Private Community Acupuncture
Semi-private community acupuncture is a core part of this model, offering more tailored treatment than group auricular sessions alone while remaining more affordable and repeatable over time. With access to the head, ears, hands, and feet, community acupuncture can effectively address a wide range of symptoms for many people.
For some conditions, care works best in combination. A patient may begin with one or two full-body treatments to address a deeper clinical need, then continue through community acupuncture or auricular sessions to maintain progress with greater frequency and lower cost.
This model is especially important for people managing pain, cancer treatment and addiction recovery where consistency of care can matter as much or more as intensity.
A limited number of Access-Priced or Free Full-Body treatment spots may be available during Phase 1. Patients requesting access-priced care may be asked to complete a short financial assistance form.

Full-Body Individual Treatments at Full Price
Initial Treatment: $150–$200
Follow-Up Treatment: $75–$150
Rates vary depending on services provided and whether insurance submission is involved.
HEAL-Baltimore Inc believes healing is strengthened when people understand what supports their bodies, minds, and lives outside the treatment room. The medicine bag that stays at home.
As the organization grows, we are developing educational offerings that help patients and community members build practical skills in areas such as nutrition, movement, meditation, qigong, cognition support, whole-person recovery, and other tools that support lasting change. The goal is not just treatment, but empowerment through knowledge, practice, and community.
Director of Education: Dr. Janice Campbell
HEAL-Baltimore Inc’s educational programming is being developed in collaboration with Dr. Janice Campbell, DOM, LAc, ADS, an experienced educator and practitioner with deep roots in acupuncture, healing, and community learning. Her approach recognizes that stress, tension, and interpersonal strain affect both body and mind. Through practical, grounded teaching, HEAL-Baltimore’s education model is designed to help people build skills in personal responsibility, patience, flexibility, emotional intelligence, and creative problem-solving—while also supporting physical relaxation, resilience, and healthier ways of coping.
As HEAL-Baltimore Inc grows future courses and community learning
may include hybrid healing classes, qigong, cognition restoration support, practical classes for whole-person recovery, and specialized hybrid programs for people living with complex chronic conditions such as POTS, MS, EDS, Long Covid, autoimmune illness, and related invisible disabilities. Future offerings may also include support for women in different phases of life, holistic lessons for people using GLP-1 medications, support for attention and focus challenges, and Acu-Detox training for eligible licensed recovery professionals.
